I KNOW THIS IS LATE, but as the saying goes, better late than never. The late news is that GearLink’s small-but-potent mountain-bike racing division is still going strong and still getting stellar results. Last weekend TONY TIMONERE and GERI LAVERTY raced at Markham Park in Sunrise Florida.
In the men’s division Tony continued his impressive string of top-5 finishes with a hard-earned 4th place.
In the women’s division we are reporting a good-news/bad-news race for Geri. A couple of weekends ago the Navigation Gods decided to mess with Geri, causing her to miss a turn and lose valuable time finding her way back to the course. Most recently at Markham Park, the Crash Gods decided to end Geri’s race early as she ate dirt in what Tony describes as a “nasty” crash. The good news is that Geri will be okay, and both she and Tony will be at it on their mountain bikes racing again this weekend.
Good luck to both of you this weekend! Keep the rubber side down and keep your competition in your rear-view mirrors.
