Mountain Bike Race Results

SINCE WE LAST SENT OUT A GEARLINK RACING NEWS REPORT two GearLink Mountain bike racers have continued to tear it up in exciting off-road action.

On the weekend of November 13th GERI LAVERTY and TONY TIMONERE raced at San Felasco, just north of Gainesville.  “San Felasco” is Spanish for “I AM A CLIMBING GOD”, and proved to be a grueling test for Geri and Tony.   For those of you familiar with 6-Gap in Georgia, roadies experience 10,000 feet of climbing in 100 miles (roughly 100 feet of climbing per mile).  By comparison, San Felasco features nearly comparable elevation with over 71 feet of climbing per mile.  Moreover, all of it is off-road, and most of it is out-of-the-saddle.   Quite the challenge for Geri and Tony.  But they came through with flying colors, each of them grabbing a 3rd place to complete a GearLink DOUBLE PODIUM.

Congratulations to GearLink’s Climbing God and Goddess, Tony Timonere and Geri Laverty.  Nicely done!

Following up those great results Geri and Tony raced again in Alva last weekend.  “Alva” in the Seminole Indian language means “The race right after the ‘I am a Climbing God’ race”.  Tony and Geri continued their superlative top-5 streak with a fantastic 2nd Place finish for GERI, and a nearly as fantastic 3rd place finish for TONY.  That’s back-to-back DOUBLE PODIUMS for our awesome GearLink Dynamic Duo.

Keep up the good work guys!  I sense a first place finish right around the corner for both of you guys.

As always, yours in biking,

Bob Lecznar (Cat. 6 Extraordinaire)
